JORGE JURADO
GALAPAGOS DIVE INSTRUCTOR
The Journey So Far
“My journey led me to the Galápagos Islands, where I’ve had the privilege of diving in some of the most spectacular underwater environments on Earth. With over 4,000 dives, I’ve explored the world beneath the waves and guided countless adventurers in experiencing the magic of this unique place.”
Growing Up in Nature’s Heart
Born in the Amazon
I was born in the Ecuadorian Amazon, in the province of Napo. My childhood was surrounded by dense jungles, the rhythmic flow of the Napo River, and the wisdom of local tribes. My family, rooted in tourism even before I was born, introduced me to the wild through expeditions into the heart of the jungle. Those experiences—camping under the stars, learning survival skills, and connecting with nature—sparked a lifelong passion for adventure.
From River Rapids to Ocean Depths
Chasing the Thrill of Water
After high school, my journey began as a rafting and kayaking guide, navigating the thrilling rapids of Ecuador’s rivers. But it was the underwater world of Galápagos, a place I had only seen in documentaries as a child, that truly captured my imagination. When I arrived on the islands, I was awestruck. Seeing divers explore the ocean felt like watching people walk on the moon. I knew I had to become a part of that world.
Through hard work and countless hours of training, I earned my PADI instructor certification and have since completed over 4,000 dives. Over the past 10 years, I’ve guided adventurers in the legendary waters of Darwin and Wolf, encountering everything from hammerhead sharks to whale sharks.

Crafting Unforgettable Adventures
For me, guiding isn’t just about showing people incredible places. It’s about creating moments that stay with them forever—whether it’s swimming alongside playful sea lions, witnessing the grace of manta rays, or trekking through the Amazon’s untamed beauty. I want every adventure to be one of a kind, deeply connected to the wild, and tailored to each traveler’s dream.
Why Adventure Matters
The wild teaches us resilience, wonder, and humility. Every dive, every trek, every moment spent exploring is a reminder of how vast and interconnected our world truly is. That’s the gift I want to share with you—the magic of discovery and the stories that only the wild can tell.Through hard work and countless hours of training, I earned my PADI instructor certification and have since completed over 4,000 dives.
